Manzanillo Travel Guide

foto 3Located on the beautiful Mexican Pacific Coast, Manzanillo is an idyllic town, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes, stunning beaches and deluxe resorts. It has become a haven for people who enjoy fishing, diving and golf. Santiago and Manzanillo bays are considered, by far, the most amazing beaches on the western coast of Mexico, the first offering calm, gentle waters, the second the excitement of surfing.

Divers, exploring these beautiful bays, have the chance to discover the amazing flora and fauna native to this region, such as enormous globefish, sea urchins and even manta rays. The ideal locations for this pursuit are "Las Hadas", perfect for beginners, and for the more experienced diver we recommend "La Ahogada", "La Audiencia" or "El Arrecife". However we mustn't forget to mention the ever impressive "Elephant rock", where it's possible to explore a huge underwater canyon.

Manzanillo is renowned as the capital of Sport Fishing; Sailfish, Marlin, Dorado and tuna are all found here in abundance. It's not a myth; you will catch a fish within 15 minutes of setting out. Besides the natural attractions, there are also beautiful towns and villages to visit. Colima is a historic, colonial town, nestled in a picturesque valley between two impressive volcanoes, home to a fascinating museum and three plazas.
